Up-cycling furniture is both rewarding and exciting.
By applying techniques such as Distressing, Antiquing, Crackle Glaze, Stenciling, Gilding, Dry Brushing, Dark Waxing, traditional Decoupage and a modern take on Decoupage, any piece of tired and drab furniture can be transformed in to something colourful, chic and original.
The mediums I like to use when painting are VOC free. These include Earthborn Claypaint, chalk paints, milk paints. They are all water based and environmentally friendly.
In today’s spendthrift and throw-away-society, it is more important than ever to consider up-cycling in an eco friendly way to makeover your home.
I’m happy to take on commissions and I will reinvent something you thought was past it’s best.
I am now running workshop classes from my studio in Ashford. For more information on this go to my Workshop page.
I have also become a stockist for Earthborn paints. Earthborn’s high performance products including Claypaints are naturally beautiful. No oils or acrylics mean no nasty emissions and high breathability. They are better for you, your home and the environment.
A luxurious, ultra-matt finish for interior walls, ceilings and furniture and the unique clay recipe results in a hardwearing and highly breathable paint. Deliciously thick and creamy, it goes on like a dream and often requires fewer coats than conventional emulsions.
