Decoupage is the art of decorating an object by applying coloured paper or scrap art to objects and combining them with specialist paint effects. Commonly, an item of furniture is enlivened with magazine cuttings or from using purpose-manufactured papers. By far the most popular approach with my clients is when I over-paper entire items of furniture giving them not only a rejuvenated look, but making them overtly personalised. I teach this process in my beginners workshop classes from my studio in Ashford.
